MARKHAM TALENT OPEN CASTING CALL FINAL SHOWCASE SET FOR SEPTEMBER 20

Markham Talent Unveiled – Don’t Miss the final phase

Markham, ON: September 4, 2024 – The Markham Talent Open Casting Call in partnership with the Markham Arts Council (MAC) is thrilled to announce the 2024 Showcase and Awards Ceremony taking place at the prestigious Flato Markham theatre on September 20.  This exciting event will feature leading talents from the preliminaries and semi-finals open casting call, presenting their skills in music, dance, theater, modelling and much more.

“We are thrilled to support this initiative, which highlights the incredible talent in our community,” said Markham Mayor, Frank Scarpitti. “The Markham Talent Open Casting Call is a fantastic opportunity for local performers to shine and take their skills to the next level.”

Highlights of the evening include an opening act by Truong Ng, last year’s winner in the Model category.  As well, the event will feature a diverse range of acts, from solo performers to groups, all vying for the top prize and promises to be an unforgettable evening of entertainment.

“We are blown away by the level of talent we’ve seen throughout this process,” said Councillor Amanda Yeung Collucci, founder of the Markham Talent Open Casting Call. “Our goal is to provide a platform for local performers to gain exposure and take their careers to new heights. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for these talented individuals.”

The Showcase aims to provide a multi-faceted entertainment experience that will feature an array of performances spanning acting, music, dance, and fashion. Winners across various performing art categories including singers, songwriters, dancers, actors, and models will be recognized. The evening endeavours to spotlight talent and allow them access to broader appreciation and recognition.

“After the huge turnout at last year’s Markham Talent Open Casting Call that attracted massive participation, it was only fitting that we follow this up with a second Showcase to tap the huge untapped talent,” says Renu Mehta, chair of MAC.  “We want to enable talented individuals to reach their potential.”

The showcase will take place on September 20, 2024 at 7 PM.  The event is open to the public and tickets are going fast.

Michael Bender, Vice President, Business Development, Green Cities Communities Inc said: “Once again, Green Cities Communities is proud to be the title sponsor of the Markham Talent Open Casting Call.  We believe in building strong bridges with communities and what better way to showcase that than to create pathways for the next generation to provide a platform to present their culture and talent.”

Tickets can be purchased from Flato Theatre (https://rb.gy/fs9a3x) and are priced between $15 for children, $25 for seniors and students and $30 for adults, with proceeds going to Markham Arts Council.
