TORONTO, September 22, 2026 – TTC Line 1 subway service between St Clair and College stations will end early for four consecutive nights from September 21 to 24. Service in the affected section will stop at 11:59 p.m. each night as the TTC uses the overnight period for track and station maintenance.
After subway service ends, the TTC will operate shuttle buses between St Clair and College. Summerhill and Rosedale stations will be closed, and the Dundonald Street entrance at Wellesley Station will also be unavailable. Other stations along the route will remain open, allowing customers to buy or reload PRESTO cards and connect with surface transit routes.
Subway service is expected to resume at about 6 a.m. each morning.
Customers who need accessible travel support can request Wheel-Trans assistance from the TTC. College Station is not currently accessible. Customers who need accessible connections can exit earlier at Queen Station and ask staff on site for assistance.
The overnight closure continues maintenance work that took place in the same section last weekend. The TTC previously renewed more than 500 feet of track infrastructure between Rosedale and Bloor, replaced about 266 rail ties, and replaced about 480 feet of power cable between Rosedale and Summerhill.
The TTC said routine maintenance is usually scheduled after normal subway service ends. Some track renewal and infrastructure work takes longer to complete, requiring evening service to end early.
Customers travelling along the Yonge Street corridor this week, especially around Summerhill, Rosedale, Bloor-Yonge, Wellesley and College, should allow extra transfer time in the evening.
