ARRESTS MADE IN RESIDENTIAL BREAK-AND-ENTER INVESTIGATION

Investigators with the York Regional Police Integrated Property Crime Task Force have charged 10
individuals, with five suspects still outstanding, with more than 100 criminal offences after a three-month
investigation, dubbed Project DUSK, into residential break and enters committed by organized crime groups in
York Region.
On Wednesday, December 20, 2023, investigators observed a vehicle being operated by three suspects
believed to be involved in residential break and enters. The suspects were followed to Peel Region, where
they committed a break and enter. Officers arrested two of the suspects, however a third suspect fled on foot
and is still outstanding.

On Saturday, December 23, 2023, investigators executed a search warrant at a residence in the City of
Toronto where a quantity of jewelry and other personal property was recovered.
On Wednesday, January 24, 2024, three men and a 17-year-old male youth, who cannot be identified under
the Youth Criminal Justice Act, were arrested and charged after breaking into three separate residences in the
City of Toronto and City of Richmond Hill.
On Tuesday, February 6, 2024, two more men were arrested and charged after breaking into three residences
in the City of Markham and the Town of Newmarket.
Four additional suspects have been identified, as well as one unidentified male suspect, and they are still
outstanding. Investigators are seeking community assistance to locate them.

Investigators have linked the recovered property to multiple break and enters and many items have already
been returned to their proper owners. Unfortunately, not all of the property has been claimed and officers are
looking for the rightful owners in order to return their items.
A Flickr album has been set up with photos of the items that have not yet been claimed. We are asking
anyone who was a victim of a residential break and enter prior to December 20, 2023, to please review the
photos and contact police if any of the items are yours. There will be a process to verify ownership before
collecting any property.
