Gifted People Services Hosts Successful Summer Carnival Fundraiser to Celebrate Neurodiversity and Build an Inclusive Community

Markham, ON — Saturday, August 9, 2025 — Gifted People Services hosted a vibrant Summer Carnival Fundraiser from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at St. Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Cathedral, located at 455 Ferrier Street, Markham, Ontario. The event aimed to raise awareness and support for families living with developmental disabilities and neurodiversity.

The carnival brought together community members, leaders from various sectors, professionals, political representatives, entrepreneurs, and autism advocates to celebrate neurodiversity and promote public understanding. Organizers emphasized that this was more than just a fun gathering—it was a powerful platform to inspire change and support global humanitarian causes.

The family-friendly event featured live music performances by local community groups, interactive games, and children’s prize booths. Summer-themed activities included basketball shooting challenges, giant bubble-making, and inflatable bouncy castles. Children also took part in a flea market selling second-hand toys, books, and clothing, while local vendors offered a variety of food and specialty items.

A highlight of the day was the raffle draw, with prizes generously sponsored by local businesses. The grand prize—a brand-new iPad—generated great excitement among attendees. All raffle proceeds will go toward supporting children with special needs.

The event received strong support from local officials. MPP Aris Babikian, Councillor Simon Cui, and a representative on behalf of Councillor Jamaal Myers attended, extending heartfelt gratitude to Gifted People Services and its founder for their tireless efforts in advocating for neurodiversity, uniting the community, and addressing important social issues.

Gifted People Services expressed sincere thanks to all attendees, volunteers, and community partners for their generous support and contributions. The organization looks forward to building long-term collaborations and hosting more impactful events in the future to create lasting positive change for individuals with neurodiversity and their families.(LJI by Elaine)
