TORONTO, September 25, 2026 – Gas prices in the Greater Toronto Area rose again on September 25. According to a forecast provided by En-Pro International to CityNews, the average price of regular gasoline in the GTA increased by four cents overnight to 187.9 cents per litre.
It was the second consecutive day of increases. On September 24, the GTA average rose by three cents, from 180.9 cents per litre to 183.9 cents. Including the September 25 increase, prices have risen by seven cents over two days. On September 23, prices had dropped by three cents.
GTA gas prices have fluctuated significantly since the start of September. On September 17, the average price reached 189.9 cents per litre, before falling by nine cents the next day to 180.9 cents. There have been several single-day increases or decreases of more than five cents this month.
Compared with this summer, current prices are also at a relatively high level. CityNews historical data shows that the highest GTA gas price in August was 182.9 cents per litre, while July’s highest was 183.9 cents and June’s highest was 177.9 cents. The September 25 price of 187.9 cents is higher than the peak prices recorded in those three months.
In May this year, GTA gas prices reached 192.9 cents per litre. Prices also rose to 189.9 cents on September 17. The current price remains below those two highs.
Actual prices may vary by gas station. En-Pro notes that gas prices have been changing quickly in recent days, and forecast prices may also shift depending on market conditions.
For daily commuters, ride-hailing drivers, delivery drivers and others who use their vehicles frequently, two consecutive days of increases may add to near-term fuel costs. Drivers may want to compare prices at nearby gas stations before filling up.
