LISA Documentary Always Lalisa Premieres at TIFF

TORONTO, September 11, 2026 – The documentary Always Lalisa held its world premiere at the 51st Toronto International Film Festival on September 11. BLACKPINK member LISA appeared on the red carpet at Roy Thomson Hall alongside director Sue Kim.

The film is part of this year’s TIFF Gala Presentations programme and documents a key stage in LISA’s career. It focuses on how she expands her work beyond BLACKPINK while building her identity as an individual artist and developing her own brand.

Always Lalisa not only follows LISA’s growth as a solo artist, but also touches on her move into acting, the development of her personal brand, and the pressure of maintaining a personal life under intense public attention.

The documentary includes several major moments from LISA’s recent career, including the release of her solo album Alter Ego, her acting debut in HBO’s The White Lotus, and preparations for her solo performance at Coachella.

Rather than focusing only on the stage and performances, the film also looks at the choices, pressure and personal changes faced by a young artist building an independent career in the global entertainment industry.

Director Sue Kim attended the TIFF premiere with LISA. CCTVmedium also participated in the film’s media interviews during the festival.

Kim previously brought the documentary The Last of the Sea Women to TIFF. This year, she returned to Toronto with a film centred on one of the world’s most recognizable K-pop stars.
