[CCTVmedium NEWS – Markham, Ontario] On Sunday, July 20, 2025, MPP Logan Kanapathi hosted his much-anticipated Annual Community BBQ at St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Cathedral near Warden and Steeles. With sunshine, light breeze, and vibrant community spirit, over 800 residents gathered with friends and families for an afternoon filled with food, fun, and festivity.


The scent of grilled food filled the air as guests enjoyed complimentary BBQ, snacks, drinks, and treats. The beloved “Summer Santa,” Brad Myttenar, delighted guests with refreshing ice cream. Entertainment included a lively magic show by the Canadian Centre of Magic Arts, balloon twisting, and face painting for children.

Hosted by the energetic Sayantha, the event buzzed with music and laughter, creating a truly celebratory summer atmosphere.

A number of provincial dignitaries were present to show their support, including Minister for Seniors and Accessibility Raymond Cho, Minister of Children, Community and Social Services Michael Parsa, Minister of Energy Stephen Lecce, MPP for Thornhill Laura Smith, and York Region school trustees Jenny Chen and Michael Chen. Their presence underscored their commitment to community building and multicultural engagement. Many praised MPP Kanapathi’s leadership in promoting inclusion, listening to constituents, and strengthening neighbourhood bonds.
In his remarks, MPP Kanapathi said:

“This BBQ is more than just a celebration—it’s a platform to connect with our neighbours, share food, raise awareness about services, and give constituents a voice. It truly brings our community closer together.”

He extended special thanks to St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Cathedral for their generous support, as well as York Regional Police, Markham Fire & Emergency Services, and several nonprofit organizations for their participation.
