SEASON 2 OF MARKHAM TALENT OPEN CASTING CALL ANNOUNCES MEDIA PARTNERS

Calling all Dancers, Singers, Songwriters, Musicians, Dancers, Actors, Models and Entertainers

MARKHAM, June 3, 2024:   Season 2 of Markham Talent Open Casting Call is thrilled to announce that OMNI TV and AM1540 Sing Tao Chinese Radio are coming on board as our esteemed Media Sponsors.  Now contestants will have the added advantage of being on television and radio as part of the media broadcast.

OMNI Television, recognized as Canada’s only multilingual and multicultural television broadcaster, brings a wealth of experience and diverse viewership to the table. Owned by Rogers Sports & Media, a subsidiary of Rogers Communications, OMNI TV is a prominent Canadian television system comprising a group of specialty channels.

Sing Tao Chinese Radio is a Mandarin and Cantonese speaking radio station serving the Chinese community and listeners can tune into the radio station at AM 1540.

“We are delighted to have OMNI TV and AM1540 Sing Tao Chinese Radio as our Media Sponsors for Season 2,” says Councilor Amanda Yeung Collucci, Markham Ward 6 Councilor and executive producer of the Markham Talent showcase.  “Their support and reach will undoubtedly enhance the visibility and success of our event.”

Markham Talent Open Casting Call Season 2 is a platform showcasing unique talents and celebrating diversity in Canada’s entertainment industry.  All performers including singers, songwriters, bands, dancers, actors, musicians, etc. from all over Ontario are applicable to participate in the contest.  Last date for application submission is June 6, 2024 at 5 pm EST. 

“Markham Talent is a great platform for performing artists to showcase their talent and get recognized in their specific talent,” says Renu Mehta, vice chair of the Markham Arts Council.  “This contest will allow you to shine and catapult your talent to the next level.  It’s definitely an opportunity not to be missed”.

The excellent judging panel includes Music Publisher/Juno Award Board Member Aideen O Brien; Juno Awards Nominee Robert Laidlaw; Television/Flim Dance choreographer & director Jennifer Nichols; Songwriter/Music Producer Mickey Brandolino; Talent manager Patricia Jarosz; Talent Manager and Model Agent Cynthia Cully / Television/Film Casting Director Colleen Rush; Casting Director Sarah Sheps /Youth Judges Anthony Collucci and Canada’s Got Talent Semi-Finalist Maya Gamzu amongst others.  (https://www.markhamtalent.ca/Judges)

Semi-finals of the event will take place at Xinflix Media at 421 Bentley St, Unit 8, Markham on June 22- 23, 2024.

Tickets to view the semi-finals and finals are $25 and all proceeds will help Markham Arts Council drive economic growth in arts, culture, and tourism sectors within the City of Markham.

●      Deadline for submissions is Thursday, June 6, 2024 at 5pm EST.

●      A non-refundable competition Registration is $50 per registrant – includes 2 free tickets to the semifinals.
