TORONTO, October 5, 2026 – TTC riders travelling in the evening this week should plan ahead. From October 5 to 7, subway service on Line 1 between York Mills and Eglinton stations will end nightly after 11 p.m. From October 5 to 9, Line 2 service between Kipling and Jane stations will end nightly after 11:59 p.m. Shuttle buses will operate on the affected sections.

Work on Line 1 includes routine maintenance, communication cable installation and drainage work. The Ranleigh and Bedford Park entrances at Lawrence Station will be closed during the work.
On Line 2, crews will carry out track repairs, switch upgrades, and communication and signal equipment installation and testing. The Grenview entrance at Royal York Station will be closed during construction.
Riders should pay particular attention to a full weekend closure on the western section of Line 2. On October 10 and 11, subway service between Kipling and Jane stations will be suspended for two full days, and passengers will need to use shuttle buses. Regular service is expected to resume at about 6 a.m. on October 12.
Because the full weekend closure is expected to have a greater impact on travel, passengers heading to west Etobicoke or transferring around Kipling, Islington, Royal York, Old Mill and Jane stations are advised to check routes in advance and allow extra travel time.
The TTC will also provide Wheel-Trans service for passengers who need it.
