“2025 Overseas Chinese-language Media Tour Delegation Visits Xinjiang Museum and the Memorial Hall of the Eighth Route Army Office in Xinjiang”

Urumqi, Aug. 15, 2025 – The “2025 Overseas Chinese-language Media Tour of Xinjiang” brought a delegation of 23 journalists from 20 countries to visit the Xinjiang Museum and the Memorial Hall of the Eighth Route Army Office in Xinjiang, gaining firsthand insights into the region’s rich history, culture, and wartime legacy.

Participants hailed from countries including Canada, the United States, Australia, France, and Argentina. The program aims to present an authentic, multidimensional, and comprehensive image of Xinjiang to global audiences through the lens of overseas Chinese-language media.

At the Xinjiang Museum, the delegation toured exhibits highlighting Xinjiang’s historical and cultural heritage, from prehistoric artifacts and Silk Road relics to the diverse achievements of ethnic integration. The museum’s collection underscored Xinjiang’s longstanding role as a key meeting point of Eastern and Western civilizations.

The group then visited the Memorial Hall of the Eighth Route Army Office in Xinjiang, a national patriotic education base. The memorial showcases the political, military, and diplomatic efforts of the Eighth Route Army in Xinjiang during the Second Sino-Japanese War, illustrating the unity of all ethnic groups in defending the nation during times of crisis.

Delegates said the visit deepened their understanding of Xinjiang’s cultural legacy and revolutionary history, providing valuable first-hand material to share authentic stories about the region with international audiences.(LJI by Rudy)
