Made in Canada, Smart Manufacturing to Take Spotlight at Upcoming CMTS 2025, with More Than 750 Manufacturing Brands Showcased

Canada’s largest manufacturing technology event returns to Toronto with expanded showcases, national partnerships, and 10,000+ manufacturing professionals expected to attend

Aurora Portraits, Toronto

Toronto, ON, August 11, 2025 – The Canadian Manufacturing Technology Show (CMTS) returns to the Toronto Congress Centre September 29 to October 2, 2025, bringing together more than 10,000 manufacturing professionals, 750+ suppliers and OEMs, three major technology showcases and a national cross-section of decision-makers shaping the future of Canadian manufacturing. With a 20% expansion of show floor space, CMTS 2025 reflects the sector’s momentum and appetite for in-person connection.

As trade priorities shift and domestic capability takes on renewed importance, CMTS provides a timely platform for the industry to reconnect, recalibrate and build what’s next—right here at home.

“The growth of this event shows that Canadian manufacturing isn’t just adapting to new economic realities – it’s accelerating,” said Steve Prahalis, chief operating officer of SME, the non-profit event producer. “From additive technologies and automation to workforce transformation, CMTS 2025 brings the nation’s manufacturing innovation under one roof, offering a 360-degree view of where the industry is headed.”

Industry leaders, such as Megatel CNC Solutions Inc., view the show as an invaluable growth opportunity. “CMTS 2025 is a fantastic opportunity for us to reconnect with our customers and build new partnerships with Canada’s top manufacturers,” said Marc Hasrouny, President of Megatel CNC Solutions Inc. and President of the Canadian Machine Tool Distributors Association (CMTDA). “We’re excited to be back and look forward to another great show!”

CMTS offers attendees direct access to innovation in action—from real-world demos to national dialogue.

New for 2025: Showcases that Reflect Market Priorities

This year’s CMTS will feature three specialized technology zones to help manufacturers benchmark progress and source solutions:

Aurora Portraits, Toronto

· The RAPID + TCT Showcase, North America’s leading additive manufacturing platform, makes its CMTS debut. Companies such as Stratasys Direct, HONPE, Javelin Technologies and Pantheon will highlight how AM is being applied to tooling, part consolidation, and agile production.

· The Smart Manufacturing Experience zone will demonstrate digital transformation through IIoT, AI and energy-optimized systems. Solutions from Cimatron Technologies, Genius ERP, Edgecom Energy and Robatech Canada aim to connect plant-floor performance to bottom-line impact.

· The Discovery Zone focuses on next-generation innovation from Canadian start-ups, including Estare Inc. and Innovate-Ops Inc., bringing fresh perspectives to the shop floor.

Programming with National Relevance

CMTS 2025 goes beyond product launches to address the real challenges facing Canadian manufacturers—from reshoring and workforce development to machine tool intelligence and data integration. Session themes include:

· Global Strategy & Economic Resilience in a Shifting World
· Smart Technologies Transforming Canadian Manufacturing
· The Future of Metalworking: Innovation in Machine Tools
· Workforce Transformation for the Industry 4.0 Era

Sessions will take place on the Main Stage within the SME ZONE and at the Tech Hub located on the show floor, offering attendees a diverse mix of strategic insight and shop-floor-ready knowledge.

At a time when capital investment in Canada’s manufacturing sector is forecast to grow 15.5% in 2025, reaching $38.4 billion (Statistics Canada), manufacturers are looking to scale up smartly. Yet Canada also saw a 1.8% drop in labour productivity in 2023, the steepest among OECD nations (OECD Economic Survey 2025). At the same time, Canada’s export share to the U.S. has fallen to 68%, while trade with other global partners surged 42% over the past year (News.AZ). CMTS 2025 offers a critical platform to navigate these changes, drive productivity gains, and build stronger domestic and diversified trade relationships.
