TORONTO, September 29, 2026 – The 2027 Third Toronto Merchandise Fair and Canada-China Business Overseas Expansion Expo will be held from May 22 to 23 next year at the Hilton Markham Suites Conference Centre. On September 25, organizers held a press conference in Markham to officially launch the third edition of the event. Nearly 200 guests and representatives from all three levels of government, business organizations, procurement channels, participating companies and partner groups attended.

This year’s expo will further expand its scale and industry coverage based on the previous two editions, while adding more international procurement and business service resources. Organizers said the third edition will invite more Canadian local businesses, professional buyers and supermarket channels to take part, while also attracting Chinese manufacturers and brands looking to enter the Canadian market. The goal is to strengthen connections between the two sides in supply chains, procurement and market channels.

Markham Mayor Frank Scarpitti attended the press conference. Representatives from chambers of commerce, trade organizations and businesses were also present, including representatives from the Canada China Business Council, the Toronto Region Board of Trade, the City of Markham’s trade office and the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Toronto.

Lena Xu, director of the Canada-China Enterprise Overseas Service Centre, said the first two editions of the Toronto Merchandise Fair were held in August 2025 and May 2026. The third edition will add more local buyers and channel resources, allowing exhibitors to showcase products while directly connecting with potential buyers and partners.

Digital services are also part of this year’s planning. Samuel Wang, executive director of the Canada-China Enterprise Overseas Service Centre, said the organizing team plans to apply artificial intelligence and big data technologies to product displays, business matching, commercial negotiations and market promotion, helping companies improve the efficiency of business connections.

Organizers also announced a new B2B online platform. Under the current plan, exhibitors and buyers will be able to meet face to face at the expo while also using the platform to showcase products, find buyers and maintain follow-up business connections. The platform is intended to extend the two-day physical expo into ongoing business matching.

For companies preparing to enter the Canadian market, this year’s expo also plans to provide information and services related to transportation, warehousing, customs clearance and visas, helping businesses better understand the practical steps involved after products enter the local market.

During the press conference, the Canada-China Enterprise Overseas Service Centre announced new advisers and industry experts, and invited 16 local business organizations and groups to become co-organizers of the third expo. The Guangzhou Development District investment promotion offices in Toronto and Hong Kong were also announced that day, further expanding the business service network.

Two cooperation agreements were also signed on site. Canada Union International Education Group signed an agreement with representatives from Cameroon, with plans to promote education projects there. CNT Supply Chain Group signed an agreement with Joy Spreader Group to expand cooperation in supply chains and business development.

The Third Toronto Merchandise Fair will be held from May 22 to 23, 2027. Organizers will continue recruiting exhibitors, buyers and partner organizations, helping Canadian local businesses find overseas supply chain and cooperation resources while also providing product showcase and business matching opportunities for companies interested in entering the Canadian market.
