On June 27, the Chinese Ambassador to Canada H.E. Wang Di held a welcome reception.

Over 300 participants, including Former Senator Victor Oh, Senator Yuen Pau Woo, Assistant Deputy Minister of Global Affairs Canada Weldon Epp, Assistant Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Agri-food Canada Kathleen Donohue, other Canadian friends from various communities, diplomatic envoys, and representatives from Chinese companies, overseas Chinese communities, and students in Canada attended the reception in a friendly and lively atmosphere.  

Ambassador Wang thanked the Canadian side for the facilitation it provided since his arrival. He highlighted that at this critical junction for China-Canada relations, he stood ready to promote healthy and stable development of the bilateral relations in the spirit of mutual respect, seeking common ground while putting aside differences, and win-win cooperation, so as to bring more benefits to the two peoples and inject more certainty and positive energy into the world fraught with turbulence and uncertainties.

The participants welcomed and congratulated Ambassador Wang for assuming the new post, highly commended China’s development achievements, and expressed their optimism on China-Canada relations and expectations for more exchanges and cooperation in various fields between the two countries.
